Assegai's first release on Shordwood Records is out digitally and on cassette on April 9th, 2021.

The band have released a statement about the release:
"As most of our tracks, the single is a product of our mutual pile of clutter and bank of ideas, which consists of written down sketches and cell phone recordings. It is all collected in a joint folder somewhere on the internet. The ideas usually grow to more concrete and unified expressions in our rehearsal space. This is also the case for the single’s two tracks. In addition to being shaped and recorded in our rehearsal space, it is also the first release which we have written together as a complete band after Markus joined on the saxophone. The songs of the Hydroslide/In Monitored Balance EP attest to the new unity we as a band have found ourselves in during the last couple of years. They reflect the expression which is going to mark our next album."
